February 18, The Power Grid of Texas  (Sing to “The Yellow Rose of Texas”)

There’s a winter storm in Texas;

The power grid is down.

They’ve lost both heat and lighting

In damn near every town.

Their natural gas is frozen;

The water pipes have burst.

They can’t melt snow for drinking,

Since they have to heat it first.

They all hate regulations,

So nothing’s winterized.

They’re unprepared for freezing;

No one should be surprised.

They’re too proud in the Lone Star State

To ask the Feds for aid,

So they will freeze or die of thirst

From choices that they made.

Greg Abbott’s blaming windmills;

Cruz flies off to Cancun.

“We’d rather freeze,” says Perry  (1)

“Than let feds call the tune.”

Prioritize free markets

And never regulate;

And you’ll get failing power grids

Like in the Lone Star State.
