Day 1411, No Time for Resting, Democrats (1)

 

No time for resting, Democrats, there’s still cause for dismay,

Though we defeated Donald Trump on last Election Day.

We still have Mitch McConnell, who is standing in the way

Of all tidings of unity and joy, comfort and joy,

The Grim Reaper of all unity and joy.

 

Now Donald Trump is suing in his agony and grief.

But Mitch still rules the Senate like a medieval fief.

And it’s become a grave yard for all bills to bring relief.

It’s a graveyard for unity and joy, comfort and joy;

It’s a graveyard for all unity and joy.

 

Now, down in Georgia, Democrats have found a cause for hope.

Two right-wing Senate candidates, to whom we may say, “Nope.”

Their criminal behavior may hang them with their own rope.

Democrats may have found some cause for joy, comfort and joy.

Democrats may still have some small cause for joy.

 

Jon Ossoff and Rev. Warnock lead the fight for what is right.

And Stacy Abrams raised their armies; now let’s join the fight.

If we fight hard, we may erase the Mitch McConnell blight.

Democrats will restore the people’s joy: comfort and joy.

Democrats may still bring unity and joy.

 

Rev. Warnock’s a black preacher, Ossoff, a nice Jewish boy.

And, if they both can win, then Mitch McConnell won’t enjoy

Obstructing every relief measure Biden might employ

To bring tidings of unity and joy, comfort and joy.

If they can win, then Joe can bring us joy.
