Darwin at the San Diego Natural History Museum

The following is a description of an evening at the San Diego Natural History Museum right after the Darwin traveling exhibit begins its stay in San Diego from November 7, 2009 to February 28, 2010. The Galapagos Mountain Boys will be entertaining the audience in between readings by Bette Pegas. Steve has even written two new specifically Darwin songs for the event. And wait until you see the t-shirts for this gig – we will have several extra for sale in case you just have to have one too. We will also bring the two newest CDs for sale: “Darwin, Darn It!” and “And For This You Expect A Phd?!” T-shirts are $25 and CD’s are $15 each. Cash or check only.

Night at the Museum: Art Inspired by Darwin Book reading and signing with Bette Blaydes Pegas with live music by The Galapagos Mountain Boys

Enjoy a night at the San Diego Natural History Museum with several artists giving a reading, nature photography slide show and music, all inspired by Charles Darwin. Listen and experience how Darwin and his scientific theories have inspired music, photography, literature, and more. Bette Blaydes Pegas will read from Chasing a Dream in the Galápagos: A Personal Evolution, including her essay on Darwin. Dr. Stephen Baird and his band mates in The Galapagos Mountain Boys will play their tongue-in-cheek “scientific gospel” musical homages to Darwin, natural selection, evolution, and the responsibility of conservation.
