Orlando on God’s Hit List, Robertson Says

Preceeding the Florida election fiasco and scandal in 2000, this article foretold doom for Orlando, FL in 1998. Too bad Pat Robertson’s prediction didn’t take into consideration some of Florida’s political machinery. Facilitated by filial faithfulness of Florida’s governor, the 2000 Presidential selection by the United States Supreme Court, might never have happened.

“Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned the city of Orlando that it risks hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorist bombs, “and possibly a meteor” by allowing gay organizations to put up rainbow flags in support of sexual diversity. “I would warn Orlando that you’re right in the way of some serious hurricanes and I don’t think I’d be waving those flags in God’s face if I were you,” a stern-looking Robertson told viewers of “The 700 Club.” A spokesman for Orlando’s mayor said the gay groups met city policy for displaying flags.”

The gay groups must have also met the godly policy of compassion, mercy, tolerance and benevolence.
