Donald at the Bat – Day 752, The Democratic Band (sing to McNamara’s Band)

Day 752, The Democratic Band

(Sing to McNamara’s Band) (1)

If you want to be the President, come on and join the band.

The Democrats are running everywhere across the land.

Now running or exploring, there’s a dozen in the field.

And we will sort them out until a winner is revealed.

Chorus:

Oh, the drums will bang and the cymbals clang and the pundits have their say.

Although it’s dead of winter, they’ll all visit Ioway.

Speechwriters, consultants, advisers, musicians: events for two years are planned,

So everyone will get to hear the Democratic band.

Right now they’re all rehearsing for a very big affair.

And we won’t be surprised if several more will soon be there.

By email and Post Office, they’ll be holding out their hand.

They’ll all ask us for money to support their little band.

Chorus:  Oh, the drums will bang……

Republicans are even thinking they might make a run.

They see Trump under water, also under Mueller’s gun.

If buzzards start to circle, is it out of Donald’s hands?

Could Donald Trump be left out of the battle of the bands?

Chorus:

Oh, the drums will bang and the cymbals clang and the pundits have their say.

Both genders and three races represented, by the way.

There’s Booker and Castro, Delaney, and Harris, and Warren and Gillibrand.

Pete Buttigieg, and Gabbard, Andrew Yang, all in the band.

There’s Klobuchar and Williamson, considered a long shot,

And Biden, Brown and Bloomberg say they’re giving it some thought.

So, in the coming months, we’re hoping we’ll see someone grand

Emerging from the field to be the leader of the band.
