Donald at the Bat – Day 1040, Let Us All Rejoice (parody to ‘Hava Nagila’)

Day 1040, Let Us All Rejoice?  (1)

Mike Bloomberg’s running;

Mike Bloomberg’s running;

Mike Bloomberg’s running.

Should we all rejoice?

Can he beat Donald?

Can he beat Donald?

Can he beat Donald?

Is he our best choice?

Mike is a billionaire.

Others say it’s not fair.

But, will the voters care?

We’ll see by and by.

Bloomberg is from New York,

Where they think Trump’s a dork.

Can Bloomberg stick a fork

In the Donald’s eye?

Mike’s in!  Mike’s in this race!

Mike got in and Trump is tweeting.

Whose lunch will Bloomberg be eating?

Can Mike’s money beat Trump’s cheating?

Is black opposition fleeting?

Bloomberg’s in!  Bloomberg’s in!

Now we will see how he will do.

(1)  May be sung to Hava Nagila (Let Us All Rejoice.) This is possibly the first modern song (1915) written in the reviving Hebrew language in Ottoman Palestine.  The melody is an old, Hassidic nigun (tune.)  Authorship of the words is disputed, with Abraham Idelsohn and his student Moshe Nathanson both being mentioned.  It may have evolved as a project in a composition class.
