December 2, We Did It Again

December 2, We Did It Again

We did it again, didn’t we?

Once more a kid, just fifteen years old,

Came to school armed.  On his shooting spree

Four students died, their corpses now cold.

But that’s not all; there were wounded too.

They should survive, but PTSD

May follow some for their whole life through.

Panic attacks, perhaps never free.

Illegal handgun, bought by his dad,

Counselors saw him; he still attacked.

School, kids, and guns all add up to bad.

Don’t hold your breath for Congress to act.

Guns are our idols, false gods of steel,

With angels of death, made out of lead.

The NRA speaks; Congress will kneel,

And lead angels fly, leaving more dead.
